Announcing the “Most Buzzed Anime” of 2024! “Japan Anime Trend Awards 2024” will be broadcast live for free on ABEMA on December 26th

It has been decided that the Japan Anime Trend Awards 2024, one of the largest anime awards in Japan, will be held on December 26, 2024 from 7:00 pm, presented by the new future TV “ABEMA”. The event will be broadcast live for free on ABEMA’s Anime Special Channel.

The “Japan Anime Trend Awards 2024” is one of the largest anime awards in Japan, announcing the “most buzzed anime” on the internet/anime industry from among anime works broadcast in 2024. This is the second time the event has been held following last year, and this time, X (formerly Twitter) I am Anime We will thoroughly analyze 2024 anime works from various angles based on viewing data from platforms and media such as ABEMA Anime, which boasts the largest number of users in Japan, and select the “grand prize” work in each category. In addition, the event will not only be broadcast on ABEMA, but will also be live-streamed on the X Trend section in collaboration with X, a first for Japan.

Continuing from last year, Yuki Iwai of Haraichi was appointed as the main MC. We will also welcome a number of anime-loving guests who will be announced in the future, and we will look back on anime works in 2024 along with various projects and talks. Iwai, who has been appointed MC for the second year in a row, looks back on this year and says, “2024 will have a lot of popular works, and this season will be especially rich,” and is looking forward to the decision of the “Grand Prize” work.
Also, during the live broadcast, there will be a special feature on information on popular anime works in 2024. With the cooperation of anime-related companies that bring out fascinating anime works to the world, comments from some of the entertainment world’s best anime-loving celebrities will also be introduced. In addition, there will be a new corner featuring special live performances of songs related to anime works that became a hot topic in 2024, including “Ojamajo Doremi”, which celebrated its 25th anniversary this year.

Last year, Oshinoko won the Japan Anime Trend Award as the most brilliant anime of 2023. In addition, “grand prize” works were announced in four categories: “Anime Song Award,” “Anime News Award,” “Anime Goods Award,” and “Anime Topic Award.” Newly established this year are “Anime Topic Award -TV Animation Category-”, “Anime Topic Award -Movie Version Category-”, “ABEMA Special Award”, “Anime Marketing Award”, “Opening Animation Award”, and “Ending Animation Award”. The “Grand Prize” works in 10 categories will be decided.
ABEMA Anime’s Official X will also be collecting user votes to select the “Grand Prize” work in each category from 12:00 noon on November 15th to 11:59 pm on November 24th. Please feel free to participate.
