The first drama series, “Serial Drama W Golden Kamuy – Hokkaido Tattooed Prisoner Contest Edition”, which is a sequel to the live-action movie “Golden Kamuy”, is being broadcast and distributed exclusively on WOWOW. “Serial Drama W Golden Kamuy – Hokkaido Tattooed Prisoner Contest Edition” is an action-adventure drama set in Hokkaido at the end of the Meiji era, and features a mystery surrounding the Ainu buried treasure and a series of charming characters. The group hears that tattooed human skin has been sighted at this leather craftsman’s house in Yubari, so the group heads to Yubari.
Meanwhile, Tsurumi marks a suspicious person who removes a human body from a grave where it was buried after a coal mine accident. The man turns out to be Yasaku Edogai (Yuki Furukawa), who runs a taxidermy workshop in Yubari. Tsurumi, who has noticed Etogai’s sophisticated technique, uses his words to get into Etogai’s heart and proposes something unexpected to him.
The taxidermy craftsman Yasaku Edogai, who appears in episode 6, is a character that stands out from the rest of Golden Kamuy, which is full of addicts. His taxidermy skills are undeniable, but there is a deep darkness in his home. Then, his talent and Tsurumi’s strategy cause chaos in the tattooed prisoner competition.
The person who took on the role of Edogai was Yuki Furukawa, who has a reputation for his acting skills and role creation. For the role of Edogai, he lost 10kg, lowered his body fat percentage to less than 10%, and strengthened his abdominal muscles.
Also, the interaction between Edogai and Tsurumi, played by Hiroshi Tamaki, will be a major highlight. In particular, the dance scene between the two is a must-see, as it took a considerable amount of time to film, including songwriting, choreography, and line matching. I also want to enjoy the new face of Tsurumi brought out by Edogai.
The unique costume that Edogai wears in the fashion show scene is a masterpiece created by the special modeling team. The body of Furukawa, who played the role of Edogai, was molded to create a perfect and attractive figure. Additionally, the interior of Edogai Residence is decorated to the finest detail. The workmanship is so great that the original author, Satoru Noda, who visited the filming location, said, “I was impressed by how much more elaborate it was than the original.”
In addition, the second half of episode 6 depicts a battle and battle set in a coal mine. For this photo shoot, the art team prepared the trolleys and rails by hand. The chase scene inside the coal mine is shot with a trolley running on an actual rail, rather than a still shot, giving it an extremely realistic feel.
