The Rose of Versailles print exhibition is currently being held in Akihabara. A lineup of goods including art tiles and wiping glasses.

The “Bersailles Rose Print Exhibition,” an exhibition of Ikeda Riyoko’s manga “The Rose of Versailles,” is currently being held at EDITION88@TOKYO ATOM in Tokyo. We also display and sell prints, as well as items such as art tiles, mirrors, and wipe glasses.

The Rose of Versailles is a masterpiece by Ikeda Riyoko, set in France during the revolutionary period and depicts the lives of the beautiful crossdressing Oscar and the Queen of France, Marie Antoinette. It has been serialized in Weekly Margaret since 1972, and has sold over 20 million copies in total. It caused social phenomena with the Takarazuka Revue’s adaptation of the stage play and the TV anime adaptation. The theatrical anime “The Rose of Versailles” is now available in January 2025.

EDITION88 is an art gallery run by VISION8 Co., Ltd. He has developed 88 graphs, an art expression technique that utilizes mixed print techniques, and has held multiple exhibitions up until now.

The “Rose Prints of Versailles” exhibits 30 prints (88 graphs) of this work and Orpheus’ Window. In addition, 88 graphs will be sold in a limited number of cases at the exhibition venue and the EDITION88 online store.

The deluxe version of “88 graphs autographed by Ikeda Riyoko” is a special edition with a gorgeous gold frame and matte set. The base color is inspired by the blue French flag and the pink room of Marie Antoinette at the Palace of Versailles, and is decorated with an original design mat inspired by the French irises’s coat of arms, Fleur de Lis. The price is 74,800 yen.

The regular version uses a simple silver framed with thin edges that fully exudes a world-wide feel. Prices vary depending on the illustration, so please check the special website for details.

There are also many items in the lineup. “Art Tiles” are made of ceramic, which can also be used as coasters. The frame-like decorative frame was designed with the image of the Palace of Versailles. The price is 1,200 yen each.

The “Glasses Wipe” uses a gorgeous, popular illustration. Made of microfiber, perfect for wiping glass surfaces on smartphones and PCs. The price is 990 yen each.

The “Square Mirror” is an illustration with an impressive beautiful Oscar’s perspective, and a square-shaped hand mirror inspired by French tricolor. The price is 1,980 yen each (all including tax).

To commemorate the exhibition, official X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram are currently running a giveaway campaign. If you follow the EDITION88 account and repost the eligible posts on X and like them on Instagram, four people will be entered into a lottery to receive a “set of two art tiles.”
