Tsuyoshi Kusao has been chosen as the new voice actor for Tooru Amuro in “Detective Conan”! Toru Furuya’s successor revealed [Broadcast on January 18th]

Tsuyoshi Kusao from Aoni Production has been selected as the new voice actor for Toru Amuro, a character appearing in the TV anime “Detective Conan.” It was revealed in the ending credits that Toru Amuro spoke in “Kaito Kid and Crown Magic (Part 1)” broadcast on January 18, 2025.
Tsuyoshi Kusao is a voice actor affiliated with Aoni Production, whose representative works include Hanamichi Sakuragi, the main character of “Slam Dunk,” and Trunks of “Dragon Ball.” The role of Corporal Dororo in “Keroro Sergeant”, “Yes! He has been in charge of various characters for a long time, including Coco in “Pretty Cure 5,” Dorell Rona in “Mobile Suit Gundam F91,” and Yukimura Sanada in “Sengoku Musou.”
Toru Amuro from Detective Conan, who will take over as his successor, is a popular character previously played by Toru Furuya from the same agency. On June 22, 2024, it was announced on Aoni Production’s official website that Furuya would be leaving the role of Tooru Amuro.

This time’s “Kaito Kid and the Crown Magic (Part 1)” is Toru Amuro’s first appearance since announcing his resignation. At the beginning of the main story, he spoke for the first time in the telephone conversation he had with Azusa Enomoto, and the successor voice actor, who had been shrouded in mystery for more than half a year, was revealed for the first time. Furthermore, he has not yet spoken any lines other than over the phone.
Furthermore, after the broadcast, the voice actor column on the character introduction page on the official website of the TV anime “Detective Conan” was updated.
Tooru Amuro will also appear in the next episode, “Kaito Kid and Crown Magic (Part 2)”, which will be broadcast on January 25th. It seems like you can hear a clean voice there without having to use the phone.
