The new anime “Shin Samurai Den YAIBA” began airing on April 5th. The fierce battle between Iron Blade (CV: Takayama Minami) and Onimaru Takeshi (CV: Hosoya Yoshimasa) was depicted in a powerful way, causing a storm of praise for being the “quality of theatrical version.”

In episode 1, “YAIBA Meet Up,” the battle between Blade and his destined rival, Onimaru, is depicted from the beginning. Under the heavy narration by voice actor Higashichi Hiroki, “Since ancient times, there has been a powerful sword in this world that shook the heavens and earth,” the two flew around the sky at great speed and threw violent attacks at each other.

The impressive battle scenes, decorated with flashy effects, were filled with excitement on the internet, with the film saying, “What is this? The movie version!?” “The illustrations were like a movie right after the start,” “The illustrations were so gross,” and “When I started watching with the feeling of “nostalgic,” the illustrations gave me super goosebumps and I was so crazy, what a disaster!?”

“Shin Samurai Den YAIBA” is based on a manga by Aoyama Gosho, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday (Shogakukan) from 1988 to 1993. The story begins with the wild child Tetsuba, who has been training in the jungle in the hopes of becoming a true samurai, and has a fateful encounter with Onimaru Takeshi, a talented kendo fan. A TV anime was broadcast in the 1990s, and this is the second time it’s been made into an anime in 31 years.

[Synopsis]
Ironba aims to become a true samurai, and trains every day in the jungle with his father Kenjuro and his friends. By chance, Kenjuro and Tora Kagetora, whom he met in the jungle, returned to Japan and ended up living in the Mine family, a friend of his father. Sayaka, the daughter of the Mine family, begins to live with her unconventional blades, despite being confused by the outrageous blades. One day, Haya visits the school she attends with Sayaka and has a fateful encounter with Onimaru Takeshi, a talented kendo fan.
