It has been decided that “Sumikko Gurashi” will be holding a limited-time store “City Pop Nasumikko POP-UP SHOP.” As the first Tokyo Station event of the new year, it will be held from January 10th to January 23rd, 2025 at Tokyo Character Street “Ichiban Plaza” on Tokyo Station’s First Avenue.
“Sumikko Gurashi” is a San-X character created in 2012 with the keyword “This is where I feel calm.” The characters and stories, which are not only cute but also slightly negative and surreal, are popular with a wide range of people.
It has also been made into a theatrical animation, starting with the first movie in 2019, “Sumikko Gurashi the Movie: The Pop-Up Picture Book and the Secret Child”, and the second movie “Sumikko Gurashi the Movie: The Magical Girl of the Blue Moonlit Night” in 2021. In 2023, the third installment, “Sumikko Gurashi: The Mysterious Girl of the Tsugihagi Factory,” was released.
The “City Pop Nasumikko POP-UP SHOP” will be held for a limited time with the theme of “City Pop Nasumikko”. Cute City Pop Sumikkos with a new and slightly retro atmosphere will appear. The cute neon lights and pixel art motifs are also a highlight.
