Introducing the statue “Guts Requiem Kai” by the Japanese art brand “ART OF WAR”, which is based on the main character Guts of the manga “Berserk” and was created as a memorial work to the late original author Kentaro Miura. Sales will begin from 12:00 on December 3rd exclusively on the official “ART OF WAR” website.

“Berserk” is a dark fantasy written by Kentaro Miura that began serialization in “Monthly Animal House” in 1989 and later moved to “Young Animal.” Set in a world where swords, magic, and monsters exist, the story depicts the heroic life of the main character, Guts. With its profound story, attractive characters, overwhelmingly detailed illustrations, and unrivaled creativity, it captivates not only Japanese readers but also readers around the world.

It has been translated into a total of 20 countries and regions overseas, and the cumulative circulation of the series worldwide is 60 million copies, both paper and electronic. It was first made into a TV anime from 1997 to 1998, then made into a trilogy of theatrical animations from 2012 to 2013, and again from 2016 to 2017. Ten years have passed since the theatrical anime depicting the “Golden Age” was released, and a TV series will be broadcast as a memorial edition in 2022.

This time, “Guts Requiem Kai” is the second part of “Guts Requiem”, which was released in 2022 by “ART OF WAR”, which had a very deep relationship with Miura while continuing to create the three-dimensional model of this work. This statue was created as a piece to complete the compositional memorial work.

The previous work “Guts Requiem” used Guts as a motif to express “stillness.” This work, “Guts Requiem Kai,” is based on the theme of “motion” and features Guts’ other form as a “berserker” dressed in armor, and it took more than a year to develop. It was done.

Although it is based on the previous work, the highlight is that there have been major changes in detail. Efforts were also made to express the strong, agile, inorganic, and seemingly unconscious characteristics of a berserker. In addition, the proportions have been carefully adjusted in pursuit of realism, and the torso and limbs, which have a lot of muscle and fat, are integrated with the armor and contracted to create a tight design.

While emphasizing the sharpness of the muscles, the head was made to be slightly larger as it has a skull and there is a limit to its contraction. This creates a unique and overwhelming reality that has never existed before. The coloring of the armor has also been pursued to be more realistic than ever before, giving it a texture that looks as if it was made by casting.

The price excluding tax is 280,000 yen for “Guts Chinkon Kai” and the accessory “Senmahei”, and 250,000 yen for only “Guts Chinkon Kai”.
