It has been revealed that an audition will be held to recruit the role of a “diva” who will be active in the film for the latest Macross series produced by Sunrise (Bandai Namco Filmworks). The assignment song “I to Ai” produced by “FlyingDog” and “Lantis” has also been unveiled, and a “Singing Video” by Suzuki Minori, who passed the diva audition for “Macross Delta” has also been released.
The Macross series is a science fiction robot anime that began with Macross, a Super Dimension Fortress that aired in 1982. The series has been handed down through the “Valkyrie,” a robot that transforms from a fighter jet to a humanoid form, the key to the story of idols and songs, and the depiction of love triangles.
The latest Macross film was also announced at the “Valkyrie FINAL LIVE TOUR 2023 ~Last Mission~” held on June 4th, 2023. It has been known that Bandai Namco Filmworks’ studio Sunrise will be in charge of production, and it has already attracted considerable attention from many fans.
The diva audition was revealed during the live broadcast of “Macross x Sunrise New Release Special” on “ABEMA.” Macross has previously been auditioning for the role of the “diva” who will become the heroine of the series, but this time, the first attempt has been to the audition assignment song, which has become a new song.
The song title is “I to Ai.” It is produced by a powerful collaboration between “FlyingDog” and “Lantis” (Bandai Namco Music Live), and the lyrics, composition and arrangement are handled by Fuwari.
