New collaboration items from “Mononokai the Movie” and “SuperGroupies,” which creates items collaborative with various content, are now available. Pre-orders are now being accepted at SuperGroupies: pocket watches that exude the seductive charm of medicine sellers, and bags and long umbrellas with their original designs that are packed with a rich worldview.
“Mononokai” is derived from “Kazuneko,” a story from “Ayakashi,” which aired in 2006, and has been loved since it was broadcast as a TV anime series the following year. The story follows a mysterious man and drug seller around various countries in order to quell the strangeness caused by the monsters possessed by people’s passions and grudges.
The Mononokai The Movie series depicts a story set in “Ooku” in three chapters, with Mononokai The Movie Karakasa released in July 2024 and Mononokai The Movie Chapter 2: Fire Mouse in March 2025. Mononokai The Movie Chapter 3: Snake God is scheduled to be released in spring 2026.
Among the new collaboration items from “SuperGroupies,” the “Pocket Watch” is a luxurious item with the seductive charm of medicine sellers. The needle is a special product created in the simulated “Balance”, and the disc features a mother-of-pearl reminiscent of the Misui-sama. The design, inspired by the “corpse” and “carrier” engraved on the back cover, prevents Mononokai from eroding.
The “bag” is based on a dignified black base, with the blue-green accent color that catches your eye. The shoulder area is embossed with a pattern that is adapted to the medication seller’s outfit. The zippered pocket on the side also comes with a bag charm with tassel decorations. The lining is a Japanese-modern look with elements from the Mononokai the Movie, and the inner pocket also features a “gokusama” with a red pattern appearing on it.
The long umbrella, a must-have item in the rainy Ooku, is designed with the “sword of exorcism”, “balances”, and “mirrors” carried by medicine sellers, as well as the locks in the maid in the Ooku and the corridor. The original pattern is decorated with a Japanese-modern look that expresses the movie “Mononokai” in a Japanese-modern style. I would definitely like to carry it around carefully so that it doesn’t dry out.
The prices include tax, with a pocket watch and bag for 19,800 yen each, and a long umbrella for 11,000 yen each. Reservations are accepted until 12:00 on April 28th, 2025, with pocket watches and bags scheduled to be shipped around early August and long umbrellas scheduled to be shipped around mid-September.
