It has been announced that the 2D theatrical anime, which will be produced for the first time in about 30 years as a completely new release for Lupin the Third, will be released on June 27, 2025 under the title “LUPIN THE IIIRD THE MOVIE: Immortal Bloodlines.” It was also announced that B’z’s new song, “The IIIRD Eye,” will be used as the theme song, with teaser trailer and teaser visual being unveiled.

This is the first completely new 2D theatrical anime series in about 30 years since “Lupin the Third: DEAD OR ALIVE,” and this film was a huge response when it was released. As in a copy of “You Still Know the True Lupin the Third,” the film depicts Lupin and his crew that no one has ever seen before, and various predictions and considerations have been circulated, mainly by enthusiastic fans, but it has recently been revealed that it will be titled “The Immortal Bloodline.” The mystery only deepens, but what is the fate and what will this word mean?

The director is Koike Takeru, a genius who has worked on numerous new anime series in recent years, and has built a new legend by combining Lupin’s atmosphere with the familiar atmosphere of the new era with the taste of a new era.
Director Koike, who has worked not only in the anime industry but also in various fields of video and has built a unique worldview, will be portraying the first “Lupin the Third 2D theatrical anime series” in 30 years. Hope is only rising for the ultimate Lupin the Third, which is depicted using the latest technology and expressive power, with a high level of tasteful coarseness and fineness coexisting with high levels of technology and expressiveness.

It has also been revealed that B’z, who has been active at the forefront of Japan’s leading rock band for over 35 years, and has been a new song written by B’z, which is still fresh in memory that it made the Japanese archipelago passionate at the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen at the end of last year, will be used as the theme song for this work. This is the story of Lupin the Third, which we don’t know about, as he excites the viewer’s imagination and overcomes many difficulties with his outstanding brains and extraordinary quick thinking, and the sound of B’z plays out. I was honored and very pleased to be able to perform the music of Lupin the Third, which I had been watching since I was a child. I immediately started writing music after being asked.
When I received the offer, the first thing that came to mind was the keyword “JAZZY.”
I developed it from there and came to this shape. I think it was an interesting work with B’z’s ROCK and JAZZY, as well as a gorgeous horn section.

Lupin the Third has been looking forward to watching it every week since the first TV anime aired in 1971.
Adding the exciting action and the sexy nature of Mine Fujiko, it was an adult work that set it apart from the other anime of the time.
My favorite characters are Lupin, Jigen, Goemon, and Inspector Zenigata, and I like them all. But I guess Mine Fujiko after all. The song that plays at the ending, “Walther P38,” is still melancholy and cool even when I listen to it.

While conscious of the “tension” of “LUPIN THE IIIRD”, which has become even more cool, I created this “The IIIRD Eye” with an endless desire and a certain kind of integrity that won’t be swallowed up.
