The manga “[Oshi no Ko]” came to an end with the 50th issue of “Weekly Young Jump” released on November 14, 2024. At 0:00 when the date changed, “Oshinoko’s final episode” was at the top of the trending list, and not only readers but also the voice actors who appeared in the anime excitedly posted their impressions after reading the final episode. The curtain came down, being missed by many people.
“[Oshi no Ko]” is a manga co-authored by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari that depicts the light and darkness of the entertainment world based on detailed research. Since the serialization began in April 2020, it has become a hot topic, gaining support from many celebrities and industry personnel. With that momentum, it won the grand prize in the “Next Coming Manga Awards 2021 Comics Category”. The cumulative circulation of the series exceeds 20 million copies.
It has also been made into an anime, and the first season, which aired in April 2023, received a tremendous response worldwide and gained popularity from a wide range of generations. The second season will be broadcast from July 2024, and the production of the third season has also been decided. The live-action drama will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video from November 28th, and the live-action movie is also scheduled to be released in theaters on December 20th. Additionally, a 2.5-dimensional stage performance will be held in December.

This work continues to get excited, but the original manga has been completed in the midst of the whirlwind. With the 166th episode published today, November 14th, the curtain has come to an end after about four and a half years since the serialization began in 2020.
From October 10th, the official X of the original manga posted a countdown image featuring each character every week with the hashtag “#OshinokoCompletion” and “X weeks left until the conclusion.” A message written on colored paper was also included, and as the story drew closer to completion, the colored paper filled up in a stylish manner.
On November 13th, the day before the completion, B Komachi and Ai Hoshino’s autographs were added to the colored paper at the center. Readers who looked at the filled colored paper were looking forward to it, saying things like, “Is it finally coming to an end?” “As a reader and a fan, I’ll watch it with all my heart” and “Is it finally coming to an end…I’m going to be sad…”, but some of them were also sad. They were coming in every day.
The final episode was published on November 14th. On X, “Oshinoko’s final episode” was trending, and readers who finished reading said, “I cried when I read the final episode,” “It was a work that depicted the reality of the entertainment world well,” and “I was nervous as I read the page.” It’s been a long time since I’ve felt the feeling of progress…” and others gave their thoughts.

Also, readers aren’t the only ones giving their impressions of the final episode. The voice actors who appeared in the anime also commented with their own X’s expressing their gratitude and congratulations.
Rumi Okubo, who plays MEMcho, posted an image of her passionate impressions that could not be contained in the number of characters in X, saying, “Accept the conclusion and savor it…”
After asking people to refrain from giving spoilers about the final episode, he expressed his gratitude to Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari, who created MEMcho. “The third season of the anime is sure to be full of new things.I want to get off to a solid foot forward,” he concludes.
The final volume will be released on December 18th! The live-action version will also be distributed from November 28th, and the future will be dizzying.
The 16th and final volume of the manga “Oshi no Ko” will be released on December 18th. A special edition “[Oshinoko]16 SPECIAL EDITION” with a special cover and a book stand and sticker will also be released at the same time. The cover of the special edition has a different design that maximizes Akasaka and Yokoyari’s commitment, and is decorated with glittering foil stamping.
In addition, the third season of the TV anime has been decided, the live-action drama on Amazon Prime Video will start distribution from November 28th, and the live-action movie will be released on December 20th, so the media mix continues to develop.
