The 166th and final chapter of the manga “[Oshi no Ko]” was published in the 50th issue of “Weekly Young Jump” released on November 14th. In the same issue, which marks the end of the series after about four and a half years, the cover of the 16th and final volume, which will be released on December 18th, was revealed, and a number of projects to commemorate the conclusion were also announced.
“[Oshi no Ko]” is a manga co-authored by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari that depicts the light and darkness of the entertainment world based on detailed research. Since the serialization began in April 2020, it has become a hot topic, gaining support from many celebrities and industry personnel. With that momentum, it won the grand prize in the “Next Coming Manga Awards 2021 Comics Category”. The cumulative circulation of the series exceeds 20 million copies.
It has also been made into an anime, and the first season, which aired in April 2023, received a tremendous response worldwide and gained popularity from a wide range of generations. The second season will be broadcast from July 2024, and the production of the third season has also been decided.
