The Tokyo venue for the original art exhibition “Blue Exorcist Exhibition” commemorating the 15th anniversary of the serialization of Kazue Kato’s manga “Blue Exorcist” will be held at Matsuya Ginza Event Square from March 11, 2025. will be held. Furthermore, it has been decided that a collaboration cafe will be held to commemorate the event.
“Blue Exorcist” is a fantasy manga by Kazue Kato that has been serialized in the monthly manga magazine “Jump Square” since April 2009. The story depicts Rin Okumura, the main character who has the blood of a demon, fighting against his cruel fate and working with his twin brother Yukio and his friends to become an “exorcist” who exorcises demons.
Volume 1 of the comic was released in August 2009, and with volume 7 released in September 2011, the first edition circulation reached 1 million copies. It became the first Jump Square comic to sell more than 1 million copies. The cumulative circulation of the 31 volumes of the series has exceeded 25 million copies.
A new TV anime series, “Yukinoka Hen,” will begin broadcasting in October 2024, and “Chuuya Hen” will begin airing in January 2025.
This time, the “Blue Exorcist Exhibition” will display all of Mr. Kato’s beautiful handwritten manuscripts, and will look back on the story of Rin and the others in this work, with commentary by Mr. Kato. It’s an original art exhibition. At the venue, in addition to displaying production materials and original photo spots that will be shown for the first time in Japan, original goods will also be on sale. Many goods using SD illustrations drawn by Mr. Kato especially for this exhibition will also appear.
Furthermore, it has been decided that a collaboration cafe to commemorate the Tokyo venue will be held at MG Cafe on the 8th floor of Matsuya Ginza. A number of special collaboration menus inspired by works and characters will be offered, and novelty items will also be available when ordering from the menu.
