“Fist of the North Star” is a manga by Tetsuo Hara based on the original work by Buronson, which was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” from 1983 to 1988. Set at the end of the century, when civilized society has been lost due to nuclear war and the world has become dominated by violence, the story depicts Kenshiro, the successor of Hokuto Shinken, growing up as a savior, burdened with love and sadness.
The TV anime has been aired for a total of 152 episodes over two series since October 1984, and includes many famous quotes, spectacular action scenes that use various martial arts techniques, and characters such as Raoh, the eldest of the four Hokuto brothers and Kenshiro’s nemesis. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the original work on September 13, 2023, it has been announced that a new anime series, “Fist of the North Star -” will be produced.
