It has been revealed that the box office revenue for “Nintama Rantaro: Dokutaka Ninja Team’s Strongest Strike” exceeded 3 billion yen in the three months since its release. It has also been announced that an event screening will be held at the Shinbashi Enbujo in Tokyo from April 18th to 20th, 2025, so we can expect a continued success.
“Nintama Rantaro” is based on the manga “False Ninja Rantaro,” which Amako Sobei began serializing in the Asahi Elementary School Newspaper in 1986, and has been broadcast since 1993 and is an anime that has been loved by a wide range of generations. Set in the Sengoku period, the story depicts the cheerful, fun, and fun days of ninja egg “Nintamas”, mainly consisting of three members of Rantaro, Kirimaru, and Shinbee, studying at Ninjutsu Academy.
“Nintama Rantaro: The Strongest Strike of the Dokutaka Ninja Team” is a film adaptation of “The Novel: Failed Ninja Rantaro: The Strongest Strike of the Dokutaka Ninja Team”, which is highly popular among fans. The story begins when Doi-sensei heads out for a duel with the Tasogaredoki ninja Moroizumi Sonamon, and a serious development awaits him, a little different from the usual Nintama.
This film has recently surpassed 3 billion yen in box office revenue. Even now, three months after its release on December 20th, 2024, there have been many social media reports such as, “No matter how many times I watch the action scenes, I’m so excited and captivated,” “It was so interesting that I went to see them that my friends recommended it to me and went to the movies every week!” “I cried at the thought of Doi-sensei from Kirimaru,” “The cheering screening was also a lot of fun!” “I never thought I’d get so hooked until I was in kindergarten,” “I loved Doi-sensei, it’s nostalgic! Let’s take a look, so I thought I’d be going to the theater multiple times…” “No matter when I hear about it, ‘100% courage’ will give me energy.” The excitement doesn’t seem to be going down yet.
To commemorate the huge success, the future will be held in Hokkaido, Sendai, Hiroshima, and Hakata, where three films from the Nintama Rantaro the Movie will be screened all at once, and in Shinjuku Piccadilly, Tokyo, all night support screenings.
Furthermore, it has been decided that “three films of the Nintama Rantaro the Movie” will be screened at the Shinbashi Enbujo in Tokyo over three days from April 18th to 20th.” Shinbashi Enbujo is also planning to set up merchandise and photo spots, so we look forward to the details such as screening times, ticket prices, and sales schedule.
