The synopsis and advance scene cuts for the first episode, “GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD,” which will air on Sunday, April 6th, 2025, have been released from the TV anime “LAZARUS.”

“LAZARUS” is an original anime directed by Watanabe Shinichiro and produced by MAPPA, the creator of “Jujutsu Kaisen” and “Chainsaw Man.”
2052 AD. The world is entering an unprecedented era of peace, and Hapuna, a painkiller developed by Dr. Skinner, has made a major contribution. Hapuna spread around the world as a “miraculous medicine” with no side effects, freeing humanity from pain. However, the developer, Skinner, suddenly disappeared, and no one knew where.

And three years later, he reappeared as the demon that would destroy the world. Hapuna was a drug that would cause people to develop symptoms three years later and lead to death, and was a trap set up. “30 days left. If we find my place by then, humanity will survive.” The only way to help is to use Skinner’s vaccine. And if you want this, you tell them to find you. Thus, five agent teams of Lazarus from around the world were gathered to counter Skinner’s plot. Will they be able to save humanity? And what is Skinner’s true purpose?

Episode 1 “GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD” Synopsis

Hapuna, a miraculous painkiller developed by the genius scientist Skinner, was actually a drug that destroys humanity.
Then, Axel, who was in prison, appears and calls himself Hirsch, and tells him that he wants him to find Skinner in exchange for his freedom.

However, Axel takes the opportunity to escape, and Doug, Chris, Leland, and Ereina are dispatched to capture him, and they corner Axel, who is easily running through the city with parkour…

The first episode of “LAZARUS Lazarus,” “GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD,” will begin airing on TV Tokyo from 11:45pm on Sunday, April 6th, and will be streamed on various streaming platforms.
