“Kaiji” “Steel frame crossing”, “Yakidogeza”, and a life-sized Tonegawa river are also on display! The largest exhibition in history, “The Great Kaiji Exhibition,” is held.
Welcome back to the I Am Anime website
The largest exhibition in the history of the gambling manga “Kaiji” series, “Adversity Memoirs: Great Kaiji Exhibition,” will be held at Osaka Nanko ATC Gallery from April 5th to May 11th, 2025. Advance tickets will be on sale from February 22nd at each site.
The “Kaiji” manga series by Nobuyuki Fukumoto began serialization in “Weekly Young Magazine” in 1996. This is a monumental gambling manga in which the main character, Kaiji Ito, who has accumulated a large amount of debt, takes on a life-or-death gamble. The work’s original gambling and extreme psychological warfare depicted through unique expressions captivate readers.
As of October 2023, the cumulative circulation of the series has exceeded 30 million copies, and the latest work, “Gambling Dartenroku Kaiji 2.4 Billion Escape” is currently being serialized.
So far, we have developed a variety of media mixes, including the TV anime “Gyakkyo Burai Kaiji Ultimate Survivor” in 2007 and “Gyakkyo Burai Kaiji Hakairoku Hen” in 2011. Additionally, from 2009 to 2020, three live-action movies were released under the titles of “Kaiji: Life Reversal Game”, “Kaiji 2: Life Recapture Game”, and “Kaiji Final Game”.
In addition, the series continues to be loved by fans for its wide range of developments, including the serialization of spin-off manga “Tonegawa,” “Hancho,” and “Ichijo,” which focus on attractive characters.
The largest-scale exhibition to date, which can truly be called a “memoir,” will be held in Osaka, looking back on the many “adversities” depicted in the “Kaiji” series with original drawings and famous scenes, including those shown for the first time.
There will be overwhelming photo spots at the venue, including “Steel Crossing” and “Yakidogeza”. A separate room in the Espoir where the losers of the limited rock-paper-scissors are branded and housed, “The Loser’s Room”, “17 Steps”, which reproduces Kaiji’s long tiles on a mahjong table, “Swords Over Love”, “Friendship Confirmation Game”, etc. .
Along with the life-sized Teiai Ura Casino pachinko machine “Numa,” which will be produced through successful crowdfunding, there will be a large collection of exhibits that allow you to enjoy the devilish world of the series.
And life-sized character figures recreate famous scenes. Life-sized Kaiji, Ichijo, Tonegawa, and Otsuki, created through crowdfunding, are participating.
In addition, the exclusive voices for the venue will be performed by a gorgeous cast including Masato Hagiwara who plays Kaiji, Tomoyuki Morikawa who plays Yukio Tonegawa, and Fumihiko Tachiki who narrates. You can enjoy the welcome voice, Tonegawa’s speech on the Espoir, and narration introducing gambling at each photo spot.
There’s also a spectacular scene from the “17 Steps” episode of “Gambaku Dartenroku Kaiji”, which has not been made into an anime, where Kaiji continues to shout “Ron” 11 times in a row.
At the life-sized “swamp” photo spot, a special production featuring Kaiji’s lines, narration audio, and music will be held.
All visitors can also try “Chinchirorin.” Depending on the number rolled, Perica, the currency in the underground labor facility, will be given to you. It might come in handy someday when I’m housed in an underground labor facility. Please note that depending on the outcome, you may not receive Perika.
“Adversity Memoirs: Great Kaiji Exhibition” will be held at Osaka Nanko ATC Gallery from April 5th to May 11th, 2025. Tickets available from 10am on February 22nd at Asoview! , Ticket Pia, Lawson Ticket, E+ and other sites are now selling the tickets. For details, please visit the official website.
