The latest volume of the “Haruhi Suzumiya” series after four years, “Suzumiya Haruhi’s Theater”, will be released simultaneously worldwide on November 29, 2024. To commemorate this, it has been decided that a crowdfunding project will be launched from November 15, 2024 to create a new song and music video sung by Haruhi, Mikuru, and Nagato. Furthermore, as a return product, a luxurious original voice drama will be created featuring the entire cast of SOS Dan.

The “Haruhi Suzumiya” series is a science fiction school story by Ryu Tanigawa that depicts the activities of the SOS Brigade, centered around Haruhi Suzumiya, a high school girl who hopes for the arrival of aliens, people from the future, and supernatural beings.
The first volume, “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya,” published in 2003 and which won the “8th Sneaker Awards (Grand Prize),” has sold over 20 million copies worldwide. It can truly be said to be a “light novel monument”.

Media Mix has produced a number of visual adaptations, including the TV anime series “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya” and “The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan,” as well as the theatrical version of “The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya.” In addition, there is a wide range of other products, including games, goods, and related books.

To commemorate the simultaneous global release of the latest volume in the series, “Suzumiya Haruhi’s Theater,” which is the first in four years, a crowdfunding project has been decided.
Titled “I want to see Haruhi Suzumiya singing and dancing again! New song and MV production project,” the project aims to produce a new song and MV for the “Haruhi Suzumiya” series sung by Haruhi, Mikuru, and Nagato.

Once the target amount of “1st goal: 10 million yen” is achieved, a music video will be produced featuring a song sung by Haruhi, Mikuru, and Nagato, and a 3D model of Haruhi. Furthermore, once the “2nd goal: 15 million yen” is reached, additional 3D models of Nagato and Mikuru will be created and they will appear in the music video.

Legendary creators who worked on masterpieces such as “Hare Harare Yukai” and “God knows…” have reunited to produce the new song.
In addition, as a return item, the SOS Dan cast members Haruhi (CV Aya Hirano), Kyon (CV Tomokazu Sugita), Nagato (CV Minori Chihara), Mikuru (CV Yuko Goto), and Koizumi (CV Daisuke Ono) are all included. It has also been decided that an original voice drama will be produced.

Other goods such as acrylic stands and life-sized tapestries will also be available.

Regarding the decision to implement the project, in which “Haruhi Suzumiya” will be delivered with the most powerful lineup, we received a message from Haruhi Suzumiya herself, who is the general director of the project, saying, “Thank you for your interest in this project!”
The Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko editorial department also commented to fans about the circumstances behind the birth of “Reiwa Haruhi’s new song.”

In addition, as information about the entire series, the event “SOS Gathering at Tokorozawa Sakura Town 2024” will be held from November 29, 2024 to January 31, 2025.

This event commemorating the release and disappearance day of the latest book “Haruhi Suzumiya’s Theater” will feature new chibi character illustrations based on the “Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya” motif, previously published illustrations, and “The Theater of Haruhi Suzumiya”.
