It has been announced that “Oshiri Tantei the Movie: Star and Moon”, the third feature-length movie of “Oshiri Tantei”, will be released on March 20, 2025. Oshiri Tantei forms an idol group and takes on the conspiracy of the international criminal organization “Kaito Academy” in a miraculous and powerful team with his destined rival Kaito U. Along with the announcement, a poster visual and a preview were released, and it was also revealed that FRUITS ZIPPER would be in charge of the theme song.
“Oshiri Tantei”, based on the original work by Troll, is a detective series that has been developed into an app, picture books, reading materials, animation, and movies. As of December 2024, the total number of copies of the book series in circulation has exceeded 30 million copies worldwide, and the currently broadcast TV anime is enjoyed by a wide range of generations, from children to adults. As for the feature-length works, “Oshiri Tante the Movie: Seriality” was released in 2022, and “Oshiri Tante the Movie: Farewell, My Dear Oshiriyo” was released in 2024.
The long-awaited 3rd movie “Oshiri Tantei Star and Moon” will be released for the first time, based on the original work “Oshiri Tantei Star and Moon!” Kaito Academy Starside” and “Oshiri Tantei Taiketsu! It will be developed at the same time as the publication of two reading materials for Kaito Academy Moonside. With the addition of anime original elements, the content will be twice as enjoyable.
The poster visual unveiled along with the announcement depicts Oshiri Tantei and Kaito U illuminated by a spotlight in the center of the sparkling stage. Coupled with the catchphrase “Two people can fight.”, it seems like they are taking on the members of the international criminal organization “Kaito Academy” that is behind them. It makes us look forward to a joint struggle between the two, who have been in an eternally antagonistic relationship, and also makes us feel that the beginning of a huge conspiracy awaits them.
The preview also shows the plot of the story, in which Oshiri Tantei forms an idol group with his assistants Brown and Koala-chan and infiltrates Stardus Island in order to find the missing idol contest participants. At the same time, Kaito U also descends on Stardus Island with the aim of reclaiming the Moonlight Stone.
What is the reality and true purpose of the “DARK AGE” project by the international criminal organization “Kaito Academy” that begins in the shadow of a glamorous idol contest? As they are chased by robots, assassins from Kaito Academy, and the boss Kaito G attack one after another, Oshiri Tantei and his destined rival Kaito stand up against each other, saying, “Never give up on your dreams!” U. Will they be able to save the world?

It has also been revealed that FRUITS ZIPPER, an idol who sends “NEW KAWAII” not only to Japan but also to the world, will be in charge of the first original theme song for the “Movie Oshiri Tantei” series. “Kawaii Te Magic” was newly written for this work, and is a song in which FRUITS ZIPPER strongly supports the main theme of “never give up on your dreams.”
