The synopsis and advance scene cuts for the first episode, which will begin airing on Saturday, April 5th, 2025, have been released from the spring anime Kowloon Generic Romance.
Kowloon Generic Romance is a mystery love romance based on a manga with a total circulation of over 1.2 million copies, currently serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump, the latest work by Mayuzuki Jun, of “Love is Like After the Rain.” Kujirai Reiko works at a real estate agent in Kowloon City, a town full of nostalgia, and has a faint crush on her senior at work, Kudo. Then, Reiko suddenly finds out from a photo she finds that Kudo had a fiancé who looked exactly like her in the past. What are the memories he lost, the identity of another person, and the enormous secret hidden in the city of Kowloon? As the past, present and future intersect, love unravels the secret.
It has been decided that it will be made into a TV anime and a live-action film in 2025, with the lead roles of the TV anime starring Shiraishi Haruka (as Kujirai Reiko) and Sugita Tomokazu (as Kudo), and the lead roles of the live-action film starring Yoshioka Riho (as Kudo) and Mizukami Tsuneji (as Kudo).
Episode 1 Synopsis
Kujirai Reiko works for the real estate company “Orai Local Production” in Kowloon City, a town filled with lively people and a nostalgic atmosphere.
His senior, Kudo, is a habitual offender who is late and has a rough personality, but he loves the city of Kowloon.
One day, Kudo takes him out to town to convey his charm to Reiko, who says he doesn’t feel any particular nostalgia from Kowloon.
The last time they arrive at Kudo’s mysterious cafe called “Goldfish Tea House,” where Reiko is mistaken for Kudo’s girlfriend by the clerk Nguyen.
The first episode of the spring anime Kowloon Generic Romance will begin airing on the TV Tokyo network and other channels from Saturday, April 5th.
