CyberAgent America (hereinafter referred to as “CA America”), a subsidiary of CyberAgent, has concluded a marketing partnership with X Corp. Japan, which operates X (formerly Twitter), with the aim of expanding anime globally. The company looks at the joint development of special features specializing in anime and the joint production of video content related to anime works.

CA America is a global marketing organization specializing in anime, specializing in Japanese and international marketing strategies, and offers localized communication design and promotions aimed at the world.
X has 550 million monthly users worldwide. Among them, the United States is the largest, with Japanese users increasing in Asia, with 68 million users, making it a social networking site used worldwide. Furthermore, according to a tally by Grok, the amount of anime-related conversations exchanged on X exceeds 100 million yen per year, making it a place where information exchange and communication about anime is actively carried out.

The signing of this partnership is aimed at promoting the global expansion of anime, promoting joint development of functions and marketing and promotion that will lead to users encountering new anime works.

Both companies plan to jointly develop special pages that allow you to enjoy anime information simultaneously, such as “brand emojis” in which anime characters are emoticons and displayed on X, as well as a timeline where only posts related to a specific anime work are displayed. By utilizing these special features, the company aims to stimulate communication between users across countries and regions, and to expand its passionate fandom.
It also said that X will use all kinds of data, including the number of conversations, searches, impressions, and engagements held by X, to formulate a marketing strategy and promote it in line with local trends for each anime content.

Furthermore, we are looking to collaborate on localized video content that will convey the depth and appeal of the anime, such as behind-the-scenes footage focusing on production staff and voice actors involved in anime works, and projects linked to events and conventions. We will create opportunities for people to enjoy Japanese anime from a wider range of perspectives.
The company will also implement measures to improve business profitability without compromising the anime brand or worldview. We expect to contribute to improving business profitability in the anime industry through various initiatives that utilize X’s functions, such as promoting purchasing of official merchandise and event tickets, and monetizing video content.

In addition, we are also considering functions and measures that utilize the Grok, an interactive, generative artificial intelligence chatbot developed by xAI, based on a large-scale language model. The company is planning to pursue a challenge that can support Japanese anime’s global expansion through new approaches through marketing and promotions that can only be achieved through CA America and X Corp. Japan.
