The first online commercial for the Meiji Hokkaido Tokachi Milk Kiwadatsu Yogurt series, “Speaking Yogurt!?”, featuring voice actor and actor Tsuda Kenjiro, was released on April 11, 2025. Tsuda speaks for the feelings of yogurt, and attention will be paid to his diverse tone of voice, singing voice reverberating throughout the store, and passionate performances of the supermarket clerk.
Tsuda, known for his unique voice quality and acting skills, has also been voice actors such as “Jujutsu Kaisen” and “Chi.” He has appeared in “About the Earth Movement” and “The Uncle Reincarnated as a Cat,” and is also in charge of dubbing and narrating Western movies in various genres. He also has a wide range of actors including the drama “Saionji-san Does Not Housework” and the movie “Trillion Game.” In 2024, she won the entertainment category at the 53rd Best Dresser Award, and this year marks her 30th anniversary as a voice actress.
This web commercial featuring Tsuda is the first in the Meiji Hokkaido Tokachi Milk Kiwadatsu Yogurt series, which was renewed in October 2023. Tsuda gives passionate performance as a supermarket clerk who tries to attract the interest of housewives in every way.
In reference to the four-packaged product packaging, the story unfolds in which four different tones of voices: “Ikeoji-style,” “Kansai-style,” “Children-style,” and “Narrator-style,” representing the passerby’s feelings on behalf of a housewife. Pay attention to Tsuda’s expressiveness as he changes his different lines with his tone and acting. Furthermore, the playful performance is also incorporated in which Tsuda himself sings the background music in a modern style with nostalgic jingles arranged in a modern style.
When appearing, Tsuda said about the highlights of this commercial, “I think it’ll be fun to watch the comedy-like parts where the shoppers interact with each other through Tokachi yogurt,” and when asked what role he would like to play if there was a next time, he also replied, “It feels like it’s a little far from yogurt. I think it would be better than the comical character of a dandy character.”

Q: Have you ever seen Tokachi Yogurt commercials before?
The commercials that were aired in the past had a strong impact, so I remember them along with the phrases.
Q: How did you like the lines you use in Kansai dialect, which you don’t normally use in work?
I thought it was rare for people to use Kansai dialect in commercials, so I enjoyed it.
Q: How did you like playing the role of a supermarket clerk this time?
I think it’s amazing that the store clerks are proactive in communicating and selling things. I had a lot of fun doing it.
Q: If you were to work other than voice actors, what kind of work would you like to do?
I think it would be fun if I could do things like drawing or making music.
Q: I heard that you had a lot of experience working part-time during your time at work. Are there any memorable episodes?
I guess I’m getting rejected from the interviews for part-time jobs one after another.
Q: Right! What’s the highlight of this commercial?
I think it will be fun to see the comedic part where the shoppers and the store clerks interact with each other through Tokachi yogurt.
Q: What kind of role would you like to play if you receive an offer for the commercial next time?
It feels dandy. It feels a bit far from yogurt though. I think it’s better than the comical character of dandy characters.
