Kibun’s food product “Sumikko Gurashi Kamaboko” has been commercialized as a miniature charm with a pleasant and squishy texture. “Kibun Sumikko Gurashi Kamaboko Miniature Charm” will be on sale from the third week of January 2025 at Gashapon vending machine series installed at Gashapon Bandai official shops, toy departments, mass retailers, home appliance stores, etc. nationwide.
“Sumikko Gurashi” developed by San-X is a San-X character whose theme is “When I’m in a corner, I feel calm for some reason.” The slightly negative but unique characters and worldview have captivated people of all ages, from children to adults, and the series will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2022.
In 2019, the first theatrical animation “Sumikko Gurashi Movie: Pop-up Picture Book and the Secret Child” was released. The second movie “Sumikko Gurashi: The Magical Girl of the Blue Moonlit Night” will be released in 2021, followed by the third movie “Sumikko Gurashi: The Mysterious Girl of the Tsugihagi Factory” in 2023.
