This time too, I had fun creating the storyboard, direction, animation, opening and ending!
I’ve met many animators who have turned into directing who say, “My dream is to create OP/ED animations as I like!” Rather, since directing a series is a heavy task, I would like to create an anime that is 100% pure and about the size of a music clip.
However, for Itagaki personally, the OP and ED are a “relaxation/entertainment” slot for the works he directs. When we ordered the songs, we told them the guidelines for the main story, saying, “This is the kind of work we want to make.” Based on that, each artist created their own theme song. “If you put it on. In the first place, when I get a request to do only the OP/ED, I always ask the producer, “Why doesn’t the director do it?” For me, the OP/ED is basically done by the director, and the storyboard for the main story is finished once and for all. It’s like a reward that comes with directing, something you can enjoy wherever you are.
I’ve done so many episodes so far and I’m getting tired of them, but I’ll tell you all about the main drama in 90 seconds! It’s definitely an interesting and fun job. Look forward to the broadcast!
