No. 886 “Okitsura” production story – What is the animation producer?

Welcome back to the I Am Anime website

Continuing from the previous episode, “Okitsura” opening episode.

c-005, 006, and 007 are original illustrations by Ryota Mori, and directed by Itagaki. Mori-kun is our best animation animator, and he did a great job this time as well. In fact, it was difficult to specify the Okinawa collage for this dancing background, and for the staff other than the illustrator, it was what we would call a “sloppy one shot.” There are four BGs for each cut, and four shots are also specified for shooting. By the way, I wrote out the shooting instructions and time sheet for c-005, and I left it to Mori-kun, saying, “Please do 006 and 007 like this.” There are also quite a number of finishing materials. Thanks to all of you, it has become more dense!
c-008 It wasn’t so much that I was in charge of Itagaki; I just submitted the layout, shooting specifications, and time sheet. By the way, the original author, Egumi-sensei, came up with all the subtitles, and instead of saying “Episode XX~”, I suggested that this should also be called “Okinawa Counting”, which is how it is now. It has become.
c-009, 010 The original illustrations were given to newcomer Naoya Tsutsumi, and Keika Shino was the animation director. In fact, this walk is part of the dance choreography. If you have a chance to show a dance movie, please check it out. Mr. Tsutsumi went to c-010, and I had to give him up once because he wasn’t feeling well. So, I drew a rough sketch myself, then redrew the original drawing to match it, and then sent it to director Shinosaku.
c-011 Mr. Shino’s direct original drawing (director not required). Mr. Tetsu’s pose is also from the dance choreography.
c-012, 013 These are the original drawings by Tomohiro Yoshida, who was in charge of the character design for this work. So, he finished with Director Shinosaku saying, “Let’s take a breather and feel energetic again.” Actually, this is also part of the choreography. Other than that, this OP is filled with a fair amount of dancing.
c-014 In addition, Mr. Yamamoto (Naoyuki)’s original drawing was supervised by Itagaki. It was difficult to correct, and I had to warn him about it. I don’t say much.

I’m sure there are some people in the anime industry who are wondering, “What?”? The animation director is different for each cut, and the animation director makes further revisions to the original drawings drawn by the person in charge of character design, and there is no general animation director, both in practice and in the credits. This is Itagaki this time, his other position is “Animation Producer”. In other words, his role is to organize traffic throughout the entire drawing process.

…It’s time (sweat). More details next time.
