Welcome back to the I Am Anime website

It has been announced that voice actors will appear as guests in each episode of the new TV drama “119 Emergency Call” (Fuji Television) in the winter of 2025, changing weekly. In the first episode, which will be broadcast on January 13, 2025, Junya Enoki, known for his role as Yuji Kojo in Jujutsu Kaisen, will be the voice of the whistleblower.

“119 Emergency Call” is an original work starring Seino Nana and set in a fire department’s communications command center that depicts the reality of command and control personnel on the front lines who can connect lives with a single phone call. The latest installment of Fuji TV’s Monday 9:00 drama series, commonly known as Tsuki 9, will start airing on Fuji TV from 9:00 p.m. on January 13th.

In this work, voice actors will appear as guests in each episode. In the first episode, Junya Enoki, whose representative works include the role of Yuji Kojo in “Jujutsu Kaisen” and the role of Yona Bashta in “Mobile Suit Gundam NT”, appears. She will play the role of a whistleblower who calls 119.

Producer Tsuneya Watanabe of the Fuji Television Drama and Film Production Center commented on the use of voice actors, saying, “It was one of the first steps in planning this drama to ask voice actors, who are “voice specialists,” to voice the faces of the faceless whistleblowers. “It was one of the things we decided on from the beginning,” he said, commenting that it was essential to liven up the work.
“As the scene depicts a situation in which multiple 119 calls are made in quick succession, there is a limit to the amount of time that can be spent on each call, but Enoki-san and all the voice actors are in a hurry. Not only that, but he also brilliantly expressed the personality of the role with just his voice,” he said, revealing that the dubbing was a fulfilling experience.

The voice actors are scheduled to appear in the second episode as well. It looks like it will be a work of interest for anime fans and voice actor fans alike.

To create a work that accurately represents the job of a command and control officer, which requires understanding the background and situation of the person making a report, basically using only information obtained from voices, and that can also be enjoyed as entertainment. What should I do? One of the things we decided to do from the beginning of planning this drama was to ask a voice actor who is a “voice specialist” to provide the voice of the faceless whistleblower.

Since the scene depicts a situation in which multiple 119 calls are made in quick succession, there is a limit to the amount of time that can be spent on each call, but Enoki-san and the voice actors, including the voice actors, are in a hurry. Of course, he was able to express the character of the role wonderfully using only his voice.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who listened to my very generous request and appeared on the show!

After this, I hope you will continue to be surprised and wonder, “What! There’s that voice actor in a place like this!?” and enjoy the expressiveness of the voice so much that you won’t even notice it.

■Episode 1 synopsis
“Call the fire department 119. Is it a fire or an emergency?”

Yuki Kasuhara (named Seino Nana) receives a call from Section 3 of the Command Division of the Yokohama City Fire Department. Next to Yuki is Mutsuo Kaneshita (Yasushi Seto), who is in charge of teaching her. The section chief, Kazuha Takachiho (Yuri Nakamura), watches with a wry smile as Kaneshita takes a strict attitude towards non-emergency 119 calls.
During break time, Yuki’s co-workers, Shinnosuke Yogo (Hayoshi Ichinose) and Kensuke Minowa (Koi Maehara), encourage Yuki to be patient as Kaneshita’s guidance is brusque, but it will be over soon. However, the snow in question doesn’t seem to care. Another colleague, Sara Niijima (Ai Migami), does not participate in everyone’s conversations.

Takachiho calls Kaneshita to her desk and warns him that he doesn’t have love in teaching Yuki. Kaneshita counters that he told her from the beginning that he was not suited to be an instructor, and complains why Yuki came when it was not time for him to be transferred. Takachiho advised Yuki, who even left her bank job to join the fire department to become a command and control officer, that she must be taken care of. Furthermore, Takachiho teaches that Yuki has extraordinary abilities. It was about not forgetting the voices and sounds that Yuki had once heard.
That night, Yuki looks at Shinichi Dojima (Koichi Sato) longingly when he appears at the command center. There was a reason for that. At that time, the air traffic controllers receive a series of calls, starting with the 911 call received by Yuki from a male customer at an internet cafe.
