“Girls Band Cry” has been awarded the ABEMA Special Award in the “God Category”.
At the “Japan Anime Trend Awards 2024”, we will look back at the trends of 2024 and introduce hot works of 2025. The main MC will be Yuki Iwai of Haraichi, and the sub MC will be Rika Adachi. Guest appearances include anime-loving celebrities such as Iidaro Amatsu, Aozora Tokui, and Tatsuomi Hamada.
Of the three categories for the ABEMA Special Award, the “God Episode” category, which selects the “God Episode” that has generated the most attention, has been chosen as “Episode 8” of “Girls Band Cry.” A girl band anime that combines anime and real bands won the award.
The story revolves around the main character, Nina, who was isolated and unable to adapt to high school life, but is inspired by the songs of Momoka, who later becomes a band member, and drops out of high school and moves to Tokyo to become a musician. Meanwhile, Momoka’s band made their major debut, but due to differences in direction, she rebelled against the company and left the band.
Then he met Nina and formed the band Togenashi Togeari. However, Nina, who wants to make a major debut, and Momoka, who is against it, end up in a conflict.
“Episode 8” depicts how Nina, who decided to dedicate her life to the band after meeting Momoka, and Momoka, who loves the band but is afraid to become a professional, finally come to terms.
The reason for the class is the excellent script, which is said to be a story with only “everyday parts” depicting conflicts between the members.
Rishi Hirayama (Toei Animation Producer)
The 8th episode is about the 7th episode (previously), where the five members of Togenashi Togeari got together for the first time and performed a live performance, and that attracted a lot of attention, so it was aired. did. It was very exciting drama-wise, and I was especially impressed by the fact that the number of people who watched it increased from this episode onwards. It was a difficult episode to produce, but I’m really happy that it was received so highly. thank you. Various developments are planned for “Girls Band Cry”. Thank you for your continued support.
