It has been announced that the manga “The Story of a Little Senior at My Company” will be made into a live-action drama and will be broadcast on BS Shochiku Tokyu’s original drama slot “Wednesday Drama 23” from January 15, 2025. Tomi, a member of the idol group #2i2 (Nini) who is 149cm tall, will play the role of Shiori Katase in her first lead role in a drama. Along with the announcement, new illustrations and comments from the original author, Saiso, also arrived.
“The Story of a Little Senior at My Company” is a sweet office love comedy based on a manga by Saiso currently being serialized in Takeshobo’s “Storia Dash,” which has sold over 1.3 million copies. Shiori Katase, who works at a character development company and is good at complimenting her juniors, is always concerned about her junior, Takuma Shinozaki, who is in his first year at the company.
Shinozaki, on the other hand, is comforted every day by the innocent and slightly approachable Shiori, but he is still conscious of the gestures of his charming senior. At times, the two appear to be close to each other, as if they were lovers, but neither of them has ever been in a relationship due to their age and lack of experience in love. How will the relationship between the two change from that of senior to junior at the company? The anime was broadcast in the summer of 2023 and became a hot topic, but this time it will be made into a live-action drama on BS Shochiku Tokyu.
The main character of this work, Shiori Katase, a small and caring senior who is in her third year at the company, is a member of the idol group #2i2, but she has also appeared on the cover of gravure magazines with a minimum body of 149cm tall. This is Tomi, who is active in the field. This will be Tomi’s first lead role in a drama, and attention will be focused on how she will play the role of Shiori. The original author, Saiso, also received a newly drawn illustration to commemorate the live-action drama adaptation and comments such as, “I hope you can enjoy the cute seniors in the drama as well.”

Q1: Please tell us your impressions when it was decided that you would appear in this work.
When I received the offer, I was a mixture of surprise, happiness, and anxiety, and I was in a state of shock (lol). To be honest, I’ve never been given a role to appear in multiple episodes of a drama, so it didn’t seem realistic at first. But now that filming is approaching, I’m filled with the feeling of “I’ve been chosen to play the lead role, so I’ll do my best and enjoy it!”
Q2: Please tell us your impressions after reading the script.
I had read the original work, but when I saw the script that I would be acting in, I was like, “Wow!” I think Shinozaki’s fantasy scenes would be really embarrassing… (lol) But it also feels like a situation drama…I wonder what the atmosphere will be like on set…? I’m really looking forward to it as it will put my skills to the test!
Q3: What is your impression of the role of Shiori?
Shiori is cute as hell, but I don’t think she’s trying to be mean. I think they are probably at their aegyo max from the moment they are born. I’m an idol, so I’m good at that kind of thing, but it’s like an occupational disease, and I was a little worried that my evil intentions like “I’ll make you look cute…!” would come through… (lol) But I think you’ll be fine as long as you have pure feelings for Shinozaki! I want to put my emotions into my acting!

I will do my best to film so that those who like the work “The story of a small senior at my company” and those who know about this drama will say “It was interesting!”! I would be very happy if you could get excited about Shiori’s cuteness, her love story with Shinozaki, the atmosphere at the company, everything!
