Product details and packaging design for the Macross F All-Time Best Album “Girls Greatest☆Hits!”, which will be released on April 29th, 2025, have been revealed. A preview video of the drama CD, which is an early pre-order bonus, has also been released.
Macross F is a TV anime that aired in 2008 as a 25th anniversary work in the Macross series, which marks its 40th anniversary since its broadcast.
Set in the 25th new Macross-class immigrant fleet “Macross Frontier,” which is approaching the mysterious extraterrestrial lifeform “Bajra,” the film depicts a love triangle between pilot Saotome Alto, top singer Cheryl Norm, and a girl who aspires to become a singer, Ranka Lee, and flashy mecha action by the variable fighter “Valkyrie.”
After 17 years since Macross F’s TV broadcast, the all-time best album “Musumes Greatest☆Hits!”, which will be released on April 29th, will be released in three formats: a limited production, deculture special edition, a limited edition, and a regular edition.
The package visual has been revealed, and the limited production, deculture special edition will be delivered in a cake box-shaped and memorial box format.
The cake box-shaped box has a valvey handle, making it an irresistible design for fans. When you open the cake box, you will see a box with a birthday cake featuring a giant salamander, a character and item that also appears in the story, and a hand-held sea bream.
It also includes the drama and cover CD “DeCulture Song Battle,” in which Cheryl and Ranka sing each other’s songs, and the 118-minute Blu-ray “Music Chronicle,” which compiles footage of past live digest footage, among others. It also comes with a big acrylic stand with a jacket illustration, making it a truly decultural and voluminous product. Be sure to pick up this memorable special edition of Deculture.
The limited edition comes with the drama and cover song CD included with the Deculture special edition, and is also available in a special case with a double jacket and holographic processing. The first production (common to the three formats) will include a pre-order serial code for the tickets for the largest solo live performance in Macross F’s history, “SANKYO presents Macross F Galaxy Live☆Final 2025,” which will be held at K Arena Yokohama on July 26th and 27th, 2025, Saotome Alto’s birthday.
The jacket for Macross F’s first vinyl record, featuring carefully selected songs from the all-time best album, which will be released at the same time as the CD, has been released on a three-disc LP record. Just like the album, this one also features a double jacket with a newly drawn illustration by Ebata Risa, the character designer. The first production is color vinyl, so be sure to check this out along with the CD.
If you reserve the album by 11:59pm on March 24th, the drama CD “Triangle Birthday” will be included as an early bonus. The opening preview video has been released on the official Flying Dog YouTube channel. It depicts an original drama that depicts the trigger for the “DeCulture Song Battle,” so make sure to reserve and get it during the period.
“Macross F All-Time Best Album “Girls Greatest☆Hits!”” will be released on April 29, 2025, Ranka’s birthday.
