Kasai Kengo will be released as a new cast member for the spring anime “Kowloon Generic Romance”

It has been announced that the TV anime “Kowloon Generic Romance” will be broadcast on TV Tokyo and other channels from 11pm on April 5th, 2025. As a result, the key visual and second PV have been released. It has been revealed that Kasai Kengo will appear as an additional cast member.
Kowloon Generic Romance is a mystery love romance based on a manga with a total circulation of over 1.2 million copies, currently serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump, the latest work by Mayuzuki Jun, of “Love is Like After the Rain.”
Kujirai Reiko works at a real estate agent in Kowloon City, a town full of nostalgia, and has a faint crush on her senior at work, Kudo. Then, Reiko suddenly finds out from a photo she finds that Kudo had a fiancé who looked exactly like her in the past. What are the memories he lost, the identity of another person, and the enormous secret hidden in the city of Kowloon? As the past, present and future intersect, love unravels the secret.
It has been decided that it will be made into a TV anime and a live-action film in 2025, with the lead roles in the TV anime being Shiraishi Haruka (as Kujirai Reiko) and Sugita Tomokazu (as Kudo), and the lead roles in the live-action film being Yoshioka Riho (as Kujirai Reiko) and Mizukami Tsuneji (as Kudo).
The key visual has been released from this work. Set in Kowloon City, this picture features Kujirai Reiko and Kudo, as well as Jainuma Miyuki, Tao Nguyen, Yang Ming, Xiaoguro, and Yulong, all of the main characters.
The second PV, which was also unveiled, depicts the daily lives of Reiko, who is aware of her love for Kudo but is shaking by her other self’s existence, and Kudo, Reiko’s senior who loves the city of Kowloon. In the second half of the PV, along with the opening theme song by Campanella on Wednesday, “Summertime Ghost,” characters such as the cheerful and energetic Kowloon resident Oguro (CV: Suzushiro Sayumi), Reiko’s best friend Yang Ming (CV: Koga Aoi), who abandons her past and lives in Kowloon, Janauma Miyuki (CV: Okiayu Ryutaro), the president of the large company Janauma Pharmaceutical, who is approaching Reiko, and Tao Nguyen (CV: Saka Taito), a man who knows Kudo and Reiko’s past.
Furthermore, it is also depicted the existence of researcher Yuron, who is approaching the mystery of Kowloon along with Jamuma, and it has been revealed that Kawanishi Kengo will be in charge of the voice cast. Expectations for the main story are rising as the true faces of the residents living in Kowloon and the footage that deepens the mysteries that surround them. It was also reported that the ending song has been decided to be “Retronym of Love” by mekakushe. Campanella, mekakushe and Kasai each also commented on Wednesday.

I am very pleased to be in charge of the theme song for “Kowloon Generic Romance.”
I was captivated by the detailed depictions of the characters and the nostalgic city background that are depicted in the original, and I continued to read the manga, mixing all sorts of feelings, thinking, “What will happen next in the story?”
The song “Summertime Ghost” was produced in the hot summer days, and I wrote the lyrics in search of coolness by the iced coffee and fans that appear in the story.
Just like the original and anime, we would be happy if the song became a favorite among fans.

This is mekakushe, who has been in charge of the ending song for the anime “Kowloon Generic Romance.”
I wrote this song, which incorporates the Hong Kong-style worldview in the work into the sound, and captures the moment when love begins to move.
Every day, you will grow up and grow, and you will want to give new names to your feelings for you over and over again.

Kawanishi Kengo
My name is Kawanishi Kengo, who will be voiced by Yuron in the anime “Kowloon Generic Romance.”
I had never read the work before before and after reading it, but it was so mysterious that I never got bored of seeing the people’s intentions intersect, and I wanted to read ahead, but knowing too much of the future seems likely to affect the play…it was frustrating.
The character I’m in charge of is Yuuron, who has a somewhat unhate personality with a Kansai accent, and is an interesting government office with a suspicious atmosphere.
We will do our best to make it enjoyable for fans of the original work and those who have started with the anime, so please take care of it.
