From “Natsume’s Book of Friends,” a fragment case made from “Asakusa Bunko,” a paperback leather handmade by a craftsman, is now available as a made-to-order product. Until March 19, 2025, pre-orders are now being accepted for Animate, Animate Online Shops, Movic mail orders and more nationwide.
Natsume’s Book of Friends is a manga based on the original work by Midorikawa Yuki, which has sold over 17 million copies in total. Natsume Takashi, a boy who can see monsters, is portrayed as the lead role along with the self-proclaimed bodyguard, Nyanko-sensei. It is a fleeting yet beautiful story of people and youkai, depicting the days of returning names to the youkai written in the Book of Friends, inherited from my grandmother. The TV anime began with the first season, airing in 2008, and has become a hugely popular series, counting the seventh season so far.
The fragment case made with “Asakusa Bunko,” a paperback leather handmade by a craftsman, has been released as a made-to-order item. The vivid coloring that is unique to Asakusa Bunko is the most comfortable to touch, with the unevenness caused by embossing.
