It has been announced that “Fermat’s Cooking,” the latest work by Yugo Kobayashi, known for “Aoashi,” which depicts a human drama about a genius mathematician and a charismatic figure in the culinary world, interwoven with food and mathematics, will be made into an anime. Along with the announcement, a comment of joy from the original author Kobayashi and an illustration commemorating the decision to make it into an anime arrived.
“Fermat’s Cooking” is a manga by Yugo Kobayashi that depicts the brilliant cuisine and human drama guided by mathematics, which begins with a miraculous encounter between a math genius and a charismatic figure in the culinary world. This is a mathematical entertainment in which Gaku Kitada, a math genius who has given up on his dream of becoming a mathematician, challenges the truth of the world of cooking, which is packed with talent, together with Kai Asakura, a charismatic and mysterious figure in the cooking world.
Will Gaku be able to use his mathematical thinking to create beautiful formulas (recipes) that will amaze those around him, and grow as a chef along with the sea?
In 2023, the work became a hot topic when it was made into a TV drama starring Fumiya Takahashi and Jun Shison.
To celebrate the decision to make it into an anime, we have received an illustration with comments from the original author, Kobayashi. In the illustration, Gaku Kitada, a genius mathematician wearing a cook’s coat, is holding a doll of Umi Asakura, a charismatic figure in the culinary world, and smiling with joy at the decision to make it into an anime.
Kitada said, “This is the second time in my life that I’ve watched an anime, so I’m going to watch it every week with a heavy heart.There are many people who get hungry and end up having a midnight snack after watching it.
