It has been revealed that “Gundam Special”, which broadcasts the “Gundam” series for free every day, will be held for a limited time on the new future TV “ABEMA” from December 21st. To commemorate the 45th anniversary of the “Gundam” series, every Saturday and Sunday all episodes of series works such as “Mobile Suit Gundam” and “Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack” will be broadcast non-stop for free.

The Gundam series is a robot anime series produced by Sunrise, starting with the first installment, Mobile Suit Gundam, which aired in 1979. The realistic portrayal of war, which treats robots as “weapons” called “mobile suits,” detailed scientific research, and the intricately woven deep human drama, go beyond the simple interpretation of good and punishment that had been the trend in robot anime up until then. It established the genre of “real robot anime” and created a huge boom.

Since then, it has continued to be developed and produced in various ways, including TV series, movie versions, and OVAs for over 45 years, and is loved by a wide range of generations as a monumental robot anime.

In the “Gundam Special” that will be held on “ABEMA”, the “Gundam” series will be broadcast for free every weekday, and every Saturday and Sunday, all episodes of the series will be broadcast for free at once. As the first step, it has been decided that all eight episodes of the series will be broadcast non-stop for free from December 21st. Starting from 10pm on December 21st, all episodes of the first series, “Mobile Suit Gundam,” will be aired for free, followed by “Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack” on the following day, the 22nd.
