Happy Christmas with Doraemon and Chimpui ♪ Christmas project will be held at Fujiko F. Fujio Museum! A tree full of secret tools
Welcome back to the I Am Anime website
Kawasaki City’s Fujiko F. Fujio Museum is holding “Fujiko F. Fujio Museum Christmas 2024” with images of “Doraemon” and “Chimpui” at various locations within the museum. Exhibits unique to the museum include decorations on four Christmas trees and silhouettes of characters.
“Doraemon” is a national work by manga artist Fujiko F. Fujio. The anime is also loved by many people, regardless of age or gender, and depicts the story of a cat-like robot called Doraemon from the future who helps the main character, Nobita, become a full-fledged adult. In March 2025, the 45th anniversary movie “Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Picture World Story” will be released.
“Chimpui” is a science fiction work in which a 12-year-old girl, Eri, is chosen to be the princess of His Highness on the planet Marl in the distant universe. It depicts a slapstick drama between the alien Chimpui, who acts as a caretaker, and the Marle aliens who arrive one after another, and was made into a TV anime in 1989 with Megumi Hayashibara playing the role of Eri. The following year, in 1990, the movie “Chimpui Eri-sama’s Activity Photo” was released at the same time as “Doraemon the Movie: Nobita and the Animal Planet.”
The annual year-end event at the Fujiko F. Fujio Museum in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, will be held again this year.
At “Fujiko F. Fujio Museum Christmas 2024,” four Christmas trees inspired by “Doraemon” and “Chimpui” will liven up your mood.
First, at the entrance showcase on the first floor, Fujiko F. Fujio characters gather in front of a small Christmas tree to welcome you.
Silhouettes of Fujiko F. Fujio characters enjoying Christmas will appear in the large window of “Minna no Hiroba” on the second floor, enlivening the Christmas mood. You can enjoy the view from inside the building during the day and from the exterior after dusk.
In addition, in the 2nd floor “Lumberjack Izumi” rest corner, two Christmas trees with the colors of Doraemon and Chimpui were installed, with the motif of the scene from “Chimpui” where ribbons fall and say “Pampakapaan!”.
The “Crystal Tree” will shine again this year at “Harappa” on the third floor, and when the sun sets and it is lit up, it will transform into “Hikari no Harappa.” The crystal glass sparkles during the day, and the change between day and night is also worth noting. Crystal Tree will run until February 16, 2025 (planned).
Don’t miss the “Gift Corner Fujikoya” on the third floor. We sell “Hi! CHEESE CAKE Xmas ver. (Raspberry),” a raspberry-flavored stick cheesecake packaged in a Christmas-style package. Christmas-patterned latte art has also been added to the Museum Cafe.
In addition to the Christmas project, a new original art exhibition “Chichinpui! Science and Magic Manga Exhibition by Fujiko F. Fujio” will be held in Exhibition Room II on the second floor. We will introduce original drawings of works with science and magic motifs, and decipher Fujiko F. Fujio’s approach to making dreams come true. The exhibition will run until October 26, 2025 (tentative).
